I am Kenneth Jackson and this is what I paint I wonder why I don't know is Imaginext Africa 11438 Plantation in honor of black history some of our students at ps82 had the privilege of having a Q&A session with this artist let's check out some of the questions that they had for mr. Jackson that I have for you is what material do you use to paint I work with most materials additional oil painter these oils what I think about Spurs cheap and do I want my paintings to look like when they're finished this is close to what hi mr. Jackson my name is King and I want to ask you what kind of classy music I teach about the artist the master like Vincent van Gogh in my class will use his painting style to create paintings like his painting The Starry Night Austin is what inspired you to become an artist comic books inspire me to be an artist I would draw heroes and villains all day is the sounding how much do Jackson's my name is how old are you when you finish your first piece of art by when I was in high school I was in the ninth grade I made a copy of the Excalibur movie poster is probably somewhere still in my mother's house but that was my first real piece of art Adam multimedia on YouTube you can just call me Adam. my question is how long does it take you to draw on your painting song can take wheat the song can take a month or something even though my processes I don't just work on one at a time I can work on up to eight pieces at a time right now what I'm working on this was just complete recently this one's almost done this one with just and this was almost done so that is my process on how I work sometimes I can trace of pain with sometimes much longer dad is my process hello my name is water artist what does Black History Month mean to you black history is American history so we have like history month so we don't forget you know we have antique heritage month and Exedra that's so we don't forget what makes America all these things is our history so we don't forget our history and that what makes America what do you hope people are are really going to take away from that I'd like to see people begin to talk about it like we're talkin about it like I always see see our orders as we what is a time when you look back at this time you will see what went on in and what's going on. And why we're doing the pieces we do that. Is the importance of the show so we have everyone walking and talk to each other about what's going on and how they feel and how we are to address this as especially for me as being in the schools and being gay or the educated and express that to my students and to everyone viewing the art which is most important like mr. Jackson said black history is American history so as this month comes to an end let us remember activist like Rosa Parks athletes like Kobe Bryant scientist like Mae Jemison an artist like Kenneth Jackson there are so many more who have influenced our history they have risen above challenges broken barriers they represent our communities and they continue to make history happy Black History Month everyone
